Performs research and/or developmental in collaboration with others for projects. Uses technical concepts in accordance with project objectives to solve complex problem in creative and effective ways. Makes detailed observations. Exercises technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project objectives. Investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement. Maintains high level of technical expertise through familiarity with current scientific literature. Learns new laboratory and computational techniques, as required, from literature or from more experienced staff members. Applies standard laboratory techniques and principles in carrying out straightforward experimental procedures and/or computational techniques to produce reliable data or information. Performs human and animal MRI scans; duties include running animal (rat) protocols, assisting other colleagues in monitoring and recording – during MRI scan – of anesthetized animal vitals, such as respiration and body temperature, and assisting in the euthanasia process.
